Bruce Ellis
President
BRUDEN Corporation

Bruce Ellis is President of BRUDEN-OSSG, a provider of support, consulting, transitioning, porting, and training services for OpenVMS and UNIX systems. Bruce has provided OpenVMS training for 24 years to customers and HP (Compaq/Digital) customer support and engineering personnel. He has provided training ranging from the user to the internals level. In addition to training, Bruce has provided consulting and support in the areas of porting, programming, performance analysis, system design, and kernel programming. Bruce has also written and updated numerous articles and courses on various OpenVMS and UNIX topics. He has developed Internal-level training for HP on OpenVMS Integrity systems. He was invited to join HP OpenVMS Engineering to discuss Integrity Server performance at the 2006 European Technical Update days. He is the author of The Hitchhiker's Guide to VMS.

Kevin FitzPatrick

Kevin FitzPatrick is the Global Business Manager for Bruden Corporation. Prior to this, he was the OpenVMS Evangelist for Canada and the world wide Senior Solutions Enterprise Architect for HP helping customers transition their current computing environment (OpenVMS, Tru64, HP-UX, Linux, Windows) to Integrity based solutions. Prior to joining Digital/Compaq/HP, Kevin worked with a system integrator and also with a financial data company. Kevin has 22 years experience with enterprise applications and its related hardware/software.

Chet Jacobs

Chet Jacobs is a Senior Technology Consultant in the StorageWorks Division of Hewlett Packard. Chet has been with Hewlett Packard for the past 19 years. For more than 40 years, Chet has been an active participant in the computer storage industry.

As an employee of the StorageWorks Group, Chet participated in the development of DLT as well as many other technological developments from HP. A well-known speaker, Chet delivers a wide variety of storage presentations at industry standard forums worldwide. His presentations include Product presentation on hardware and software for Customers, Training Hewlett Packard and partner sales and engineering teams, including ‘Competitive Information and Futures’. He has traveled around the world appearing in person, and on television, at conferences from Brazil to Great Britain and from Boston to Beijing.

Martin Schneider
Senior Storage Consultant
Hewlett-Packard (Canada)

Martin specializes in network-based storage solutions and has focused in this area for the past 8 years. Prior to his current position as a Senior Storage Consultant, he was a Solutions Consultant for 10 years covering a wide variety of systems and operating environments. In his current role, Martin articulates HP's storage message by focusing on the positive business impact of HP's offerings in the area of data replication, disaster recovery, and information lifecycle and storage management. In addition, he has previously held technical positions with Compaq Canada and Digital Equipment Corporation. He holds a Masters Degree from York University and a Bachelor's Degree from the University of Waterloo.

Steve J. Shaw
BCS Business Development Manager

Steve is the Business Critical Servers (BCS) Business Development Manager with Hewlett-Packard Canada’s Enterprise Storage and Servers organization. He has 26 years of experience in the computer industry. Steve has held a number of positions at Hewlett-Packard. Prior to his current role, he was the Solutions and Services Marketing Manager responsible for the enterprise systems, solutions and services in the Canadian market. Before that he was the Educational Services Manager in HP Education for over six years.

Steve works with a team of marketing and solution professionals in Canada as well as at HP divisions and external partners to develop and deploy enterprise solutions across Canada. He also works with the HP Canadian sales force and partners to deliver strategic presentations to key enterprise customers on topics including enterprise computing systems, adaptive infrastructures and utility computing solutions.

Steve is a Certified Engineering Technologist (CET) and graduated from the Computer Engineering Technology program at Conestoga College, Kitchener, Ontario. He is also a graduate of Wilfrid Laurier University, Waterloo, Ontario with a Diploma in Business Administration and a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Economics. Steve is a member of the Conference Board of Canada’s Council for Information Technology Professionals. He has been a guest speaker on a variety of topics at various industry seminars, user groups as well as speaking at educational institutions.

John Shortt
OpenVMS Blades Engineering Project Leader

John Shortt is the OpenVMS Blades Engineering Project Leader. In this role, John has overall technical responsibility for Blades support on OpenVMS, which includes working with HP product teams on current and future designs, high-profile customer solutions and OpenVMS development teams. Prior to this John was a member of the OpenVMS IO Executive and Kernel development teams.

Susan Skonetski
Manager, OpenVMS Customer and Field Programs
Hewlett-Packard Company

Sue Skonetski plays an integral role in OpenVMS Engineering. As Technical Program Manager, she is the driver of the worldwide OpenVMS Ambassadors Program which has set the gold standard for HP Technical Advocate Programs. In addition, she is the visionary behind the OpenVMS Technical Journal and yearly OpenVMS Advanced Technical Boot Camp which provides lecture and hands-on customer training. She serves on the LUG and SIG boards, and serves as the OpenVMS Encompass U.S. counterpart. Sue has been with HP/Compaq/DEC for the past 21 years.
